Lane Recliner

Welcome to our page dedicated to Lane Home Furnishings. The story of how the business came together is rather different than the typical one. In 1912 John Lane purchased a plant that manufactured boxes. John then encouraged his son, Ed, to manufacture chests in his newly acquired plant. They were hesitant about attaching their name to this new company as they weren't sure how good the final product would be. So they called it the Red Cedar Chest Company.

They begain making chests. They slowly expanded into other furniture such as tables, casegoods, and accent pieces. Then in 1972, they bought a reclining chair company. Eventually the company grew and morped into what we know today as Lane Home Furnishings.

Their prices are a little bit higher than what you would pay for a typical recliner. There are mixed reviews about Lane recliners. A lot of people have had great experiences with their furniture. Althought it does cost more than your average item, they make a higher quality product. Most of the bad reviews have to do with the actual sales person. As with all companies, some employees have superb customer service skills and etique while others are obviously lacking.

We don't think you should let a few bad employees scare you away from trying any of their products. Find a Lane retailer nearby and check out their great recliners!
